Client: EZ MEDREX
EZ MEDREX is dedicated to becoming a “safe, secure and convenient information host for all of your personal healthcare records,” with a clear focus on simplifying access to multiple healthcare portals in one place.
Overview
EZ MEDREX solves a common healthcare usability problem: patients often manage multiple password-protected medical portals — each with its own URL, username, and password.
EZ MEDREX centralizes that experience by allowing users to store portal access once and securely use it later — reducing friction at the moment they need care the most.

Background
Healthcare records are increasingly digital, but access remains fragmented across multiple provider portals. The EZ MEDREX website highlights the pain directly: for every portal assigned, users must remember “another web address, username, and password,” which becomes especially problematic in urgent contexts.
EZ MEDREX’s vision is to provide securely stored healthcare information accessible “on any smartphone, device or PC,” without sacrificing privacy.
Project Objectives
Guided by EZ MEDREX’s positioning and product promises, we aligned delivery around these outcomes:
-
Bring multiple health portals into one place
“All of your health portals in one location.”
-
Reduce credential fatigue and access friction
“Never forget your portal password, again.”
-
Make security a first-class product feature
“Maximum security to protect your privacy” and “keep your sensitive information safe.”
-
Deliver a consistent, mobile-first experience across iOS and Android, with future-ready architecture for long-term growth.
Challenges
1. Security & Trust Expectations in Healthcare UX
EZ MEDREX positions itself as a secure host for sensitive healthcare data. The app experience therefore needed to continuously reinforce user trust through UX, messaging, and system design.
2. Portal Complexity at Scale
Users may have many portals — each with different flows and credentials. Delivering on the “one place” promise required thoughtful UX architecture and technical handling of diverse access patterns.
3. Consistency Between Marketing & Product
The website states that “Portals added in the app match those marketed on the website.” This created pressure on QA, content alignment, and product accuracy to ensure marketing and functionality remained in sync.
Our Solution
We delivered a cross-platform mobile product directly supporting EZ MEDREX’s core value proposition: consolidate portal access, reduce repeated credential work, and protect sensitive data.
1) Cross-Platform Mobile Build (React Native)
We developed a single shared codebase for both iOS and Android using React Native. This enabled:
-
Faster development cycles
-
Consistent UI/UX across platforms
-
Efficient iteration within a 6-month timeline
2) Secure Backend Foundation (Node.js + AWS)
Backend services were built in Node.js and deployed on AWS, creating a scalable and reliable foundation aligned with the product’s strong security positioning.
This architecture supported:
3) Portal-First Product Experience
We structured the product experience around the exact promises users encounter on the website:
The UX was designed to minimize cognitive load while reinforcing clarity and trust at every step.
4) Performance, QA & Release Readiness
With a focused 5-person team, we established a predictable release cadence across both iOS and Android stores, ensuring:
